You can script in VB Script or J Script. Depends on your programming background, VB script is BASIC like of course, J Script if you've done java, or even C and related languages, it's closer of the two to those.

Both are pretty easy to pick up though.

LE "Link Editor" does not understand any language but with the SE "Script Editor" you can use jScript or vbScript. You'll find most examples posted here in the forums and in the Libraries are jScript. So for that reason it may be better to start off with jScript. I bet some will say vbScript is better though.

I've heard that VBscript is a little more powerful, though I don't know exactly in which ways. However, I think you would have an easier time learning Jscript. As trueBlue said, there are many Jscript examples around the forums. There are also more examples on the web that can be translated into tS from my experience as well. I've always had a harder time finding VBscript examples.

Once you've learned one language though, it's usually fairly easy to transfer that knowledge to other languages. The basic idea of programming is really the same across the board, there are just some changes to the syntax from language to language. For instance, in PHP you have to put a dollar sign in front of variables, whereas in Jscript you do not. Stuff like that.
