From TWWOTWs match render in the speed model challange, I decided to see how hard it would be to drop things. And what do you drop? Pick up sticks!

can anyone tell me why my sticks fall through and stick in my backdrop?

Could be a precision issue. How dense is your background mesh?

Not sure what version of tS this was done in, or if it used Model or Workspace side.

The things to look for are:

- Mesh density - especially in the ground plane as mentioned by Jack. Increased mesh density avoids collision problems.

- Simulation precision - the more steps in each frame of calculation the more accurate it will be.

There is a trade off between speed and accuracy. The WorkSpace side physics engine is more efficient than Model side but accurate physical sims involving numbers of interacting objects can still be slow to calculate.

I had problems with my hoops in SMC #27 where they kept passing through one another even though collision was on...never figured it out. (I realise that doesn't help though)

mesh density didn't seem to help much, but the simulation precision got it... no time to render now... will do it when I get home.
