Here is my meagre contribution. Marvin the Martian. It took a couple of hours to make, then a couple of days and many saves and crashes to get it rigged. I think he looks kinda cute.

I was going to contribute a .wav file of my impersonation of Marvin saying "Your making me very angry" but I did not see a .wav file format in the upload area. Anybody got any suggestions.

I always did like Marvin the Martian. Course you realize we're showing our age.

I say, I say, boy, anybody got a Foghorn Leghorn model out there.

Ok, added .wav as acceptable file for upload. Set a limit to size at 44k.

Hope it will be good average size file. Let me know if not.

Marvin is one of my all time fav cartoon characters. His voice kept haunting me as I was creating the "modulator" object from SmartieMod object.

Here is test:

Textured brush object with the texture. No guarantees.

Well my .wav file is 71 kb. So I zipped it up and attached the .zip file. I might need some advice on changing my recording settings, because I have no clue about that stuff.

Also what was it that Marvin said about that space modulator? I can not for the life of me remember that line? I have to blow up Earth because it is obstructing my view of Venus or something like that.

If you think my impersonation of Marvin saying your making me very angry is half decent then, I'll try the next phrase if we can collectively remember what it was he said.

I get to laughing just thinking about this stuff.

Smoothchat,

First you recreated one of my favorite Warner Brother's Characters so you have fine taste!

One thing I noticed that could help. If you wanted to make him more like the original make his height two heads high. So from his neck to the bottom of his feet would be the same height as from his neck to top of his helmet. (The brush is not included in this height).

The colors are spot on and everything else works great. Possibly explore the texture in his shoes.

I'm good friends with Eric Goldberg who did the Genie in Aladdin and was consultant in Warner's last movie. I remember him studying Marvin also. So you picked a great subject.

Good job and keep it up.

Thanks Steinie,

I modelled him from a 2" plastic toy figure I got from some hamburger place. He's probably not in perfect proportion to the original. The model had no tummy, but I think he looks better with a bit of a pot belly. Also, his arms and legs are more like Gumby (On his body, arms and legs, I've left sub surfacing on to help overcome the "kinks").

I have a slightly later version where I have updated his brush and given him the ability to raise his legs straight in front (forgot to enable that motion axis).

Any attempt to tweak him now is very frustrating as more often than not, the hidden "gotchas" cause him to go splat, and I have to start again.

I probably wont do any more to him. I will upload the later version tonight.

Here is the new improved (and my last ) Marvin. New brush and bigger head. Legs have more motion as well.
