Not sure what you mean by import Dxg made in 7.5 to import into 7.5?

I made a plane in tS7.51 with some bumps and pulls, the exported it dxf.

It imported just fine into Carrara. dwf export into tS7.51

Make sure you are on the model side and use the tS6 menu to save and load dxf objects.

Yes it sounds like could be a settings issue.

For DWG import, you'll need the Conversion Pack. There are plenty of settings for this format, both when you export from AutoCAD and when you import to tS, those may take adjustment to get things working as expected.

Perhaps the best chance of someone being able to help would come from screengrabs - if you could capture the screen showing the model in AutoCAD, capture the export settings you are using in AutoCAD (again just screen grab the dialog where you set those), and capture the settings you have for import in tS (screen grab again), then someone might be able to give advice on what settings work for that particular kind of model.

HTH!

I dont normally export(from 3rd party) then import(into TS) DXF files, but I did make a quick check on the export/import of polylines (as I think you put forward), and had no problem (I was using an early version of Rhino for the export, with the settings (see pic))

2D polylines gave no problem, 3d polylines did import as closed with mesh.

More info will certainly help.

Pics are:

1/ polylines in Rhino

2/ export settings

3 import result as in TS (model side)

thanks for your answers.. however, i am not the one equiped with autocad, so i'll tryo to arrange it with him.

the purpose was to import land level curves and make a 3d lanscape into truespace in order to insert 3d objects onto it..

I have attempted to import DXF meshes, using various settings, but TS7.5 just locks up and locks me out of the OS, I have to re-set the PC.

Other formats, such as IGES on attempted import cause a popup to say I need to get the conversion pack. (which costs $79. lol)
