Can somebidy give me some advice please? tS6.6 crashed 4 times while I merely positioned the ground plain and painted it with a texture to do a render!!! and its only 8792 polgons in the entire scene.

What might cause it becuase I refuse to believe this is general unstibility of 6.6... perhaps the duel core CPU's or the crappy Geforce 7200se card I have?

tS6.6 crashes if you paint a big object that is larger than the screen. That bug has been fixed in tS7.5 thanks to the new texture/memory management system.

Try to zoom out using the ZoomToFit plugin before you paint the object. This should work.

Single poly plane?
What's the texture size?

Try to subdivide the ground plane 2 or 3 times if it is very big. This might also fix d3d display errors for extreme big polygons.
