Ok guys booleans are really ticking me off. I don't undestand why it won't do this simple cut. Heck I have taken this scene to my desktop cpu and it tells me ts had detected an error. I need this die cut from the plate. I can't get it to do it. To beat it all..it tells me I am to precise..how is that possible..I have never been that good at anything. The objects are attached.

I noticed that if it's a subtraction, if you right click the boolean subtract icon, you'll get a little context dialog box, with:

Identity 50 <---> (you can adjust the number, I guess)

check boxes:

Delete Edges
Triangulate first
Keep Drill
Keep Material

On Fly Offset 0.2 <----> (you can adjust this too)

I have been experimenting with this (which is why there appears to be no progress with Orbicles at the moment) and I wonder if the On Fly Offset might be what's causing you that error message? .. if they offset is smaller maybe?

Mind you, I'm speaking from wild surmise, rather than any real knowledge.. so.... this may be a totally silly suggestion - I only say it because you don't mention having made any settings adjustments.

So prodigy is this a new object or mine revamped? If it is new what is the differnce? I want to know so I don't have this issue again? I though I had a clean mesh, but then again I still am uncertian what makes a "dirty" mesh. Thanks for the help guys.

Ok..just peeked at it and I can see it is not my mesh, but a new one. Here is the problem though Prodigy, my object is bent. It has to be bent to match the slope of the heatsink fins. So do you think maybe the fact that my mesh was bent is a problem? Maybe I have to make the mesh into two parts? The angled part and the flat part with the hole cut in it?

Yes.. i try to recreate your mesh.. but i miss some shapes i think :D.. i found a workarround to bring your mesh back to life..

Now this is the same model without the problem..

What i do?? i move your mesh to the workspace side.. and then i separete the right faces and then normal sweep

Booleans.. hooo booleans

here is the scene..

Now hope that helps :D

Thanks man..I see what you said you did, but I am still don't know what you did to fix it. What do you mean sperated the right faces and normal sweep? I guess I need to compare my object to yours.
