HI guys, sorry to be a pain but the LE is not a place I normally go. However, I am trying to make a teaching room with a camera looking down on to a table/podium. I took the one from the meeting room but I obviously forgot something as it does not work. Ideally I would also like a camera mounted to view the table from a perspective view (perhaps attached to one of the struts?) and some system for cycling through the different views. Can anyone help me here. I have posted the scene, if you could perhaps fix it and repost that would be great.

I know it is a lot to ask but this will be for students and should eventually benefit us all...:D

Please let me know if this is just a bit too much to ask, I have no idea how hard it is but the camera and screen are in that scene; I just need them linking up. Maybe it is very simple maybe not...I have no idea really.

Or have the scripters not tuned in yet...;)

Maybee a simple suggestoin and might not work but w/e (free bump lol) could you not use the camera from the truespace already made thing where its a guys face ? and it projects it onto that screen?

I already took a camera from the main meeting room. It's function was perfect in there but I seem to have 'disconnected' something along the way...:(

oo i see what you mean now hmmm maybee caligari rigged it so it can't be copied??? dunno why they would do that. it works for me if i delete everything else and just keep the camera there with the 1 box thing showing what it sees maybee you could copy your scene into that one>? just a suggestion

Good idea but I cannot get onto shared space here at school to grab it. Any chance you can post the scene with the camera/screen thingy then I can drop it in?

Cheers for trying...:D

If everything is out of that scene then right click on workspace scene library and insert as...RsScn (scene).

Then you can simply attach a RsScn to your post as you would any image...:D

Cheers

You did it exactly right young man. Many thanks. However, it was the camera from the meeting room scene (the one that shows an object on the big screen in the background that I fluffed up but this one should work just as well...:D

Cheers

No, no..it is the meeting place scene that I took the initial camera from.

This works fine but what ever I do in the scene it will only show the sphere that came with it....like in the grab. If I move the sphere you see it, but anyting else...NO....:(

Somewhere a scripter is laughing at me for not seeing how simple this is...

Excuse poor grab...it's my laptop...

I think if you were to rebuild the frame and not use a Constant shader might work. I do not have tS7.5 installed presently.

Hey Paul. I have a few errands to run right now so I don't think I'll get a chance to look at it until later this afternoon or evening. Like trueBlue said, it might be easier to build your screen from scratch. I'll have a look when I get a chance though if nobody has already figured it out by then. :)

Oh, I do have an old camera switch script too.

I think I might have found the problem here. To get the objects out of the original scene I encapsulated them all then saved them to library. It seems now that the camera will only view any objects within that encapsulated object...if that makes sense. How do you collapse an encapsulated object back to the main project section?

As I recall when I looked at that Frame it was not using the Texture to Render at all. It was a different application just using static image.

Sorted now guys, the encapsulation was indeed the problem. Now to transfer it to my main machine where it should actually run.

Thanks for the input.

Trueblue, this is the screen from the new meeting place where the camera was positioned to point to objects on the podiums. Works a treat for me now.
