Ok I tried this last night and it did not seem to work. I have a sky that I want as the background. I selected the background image I wanted but it still rendered the color not the image.

i always tend to use a plain with the background image on (angled at the camera) for my backrounds, give that a try if you can't get the other to work.

Jeff if you're using VRay you need to set the background image where you set the image for HDRI.

If you're looking to composite your scene with an image then you could put the image on a box with constant shading and ambient turned up and place that behind your scene.

nope I was just using the LW enigine that comes with TS. I thought it would be nice and easy to insert the image in the background settings.

Ah for light works. If you're in model side, right click on the render icon. That brings up the PhotoRender panel. Choose "Image" in the drop down next to the Background button. Click the Background button. That pops up a panel in Model-side. Right click on the button in the panel and browse to your image. :)

I'm not sure if you did this already Jeff, or if you're having problems after doing this. But, did you right click on render scene on model side and then under background, select image from the drop down box? Once you have that selected it should show up when you render the scene.
