(Note: I posted this on the TrueBones forums, but I'm not convinced this is a TrueBones problem, so I'm posting here and on the gameSpace forums as well.)

Hi all -

I'm having a rather odd problem with the MilkBones package in gameSpace. I loaded the "MissMilkGS.cob" object and extracted the skeleton from it. I saved this as "MissMilkSkeleton.cob". I started a new scene, loaded my model, then loaded the extracted skeleton. I scaled the model until it was close to the same size as the skeleton (aligning the knees and shoulders, as I've heard is best), then rotated the bones to match the pose (I used the scene editor to select the bones and joints, as that seemed to be the only way to do it).

I attached the model to the skeleton, and everything seemed to be fine, as you can see in this screenshot:

Now the problem: When I cycle through the animation frames, the model changes its orientation along with the skeleton, but none of the vertices bend with the bones. Here's a screenshot:

Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Kilo

Hmmmm..

did you adjust the skinning at all..?

Looks like all the vertices are 'painted' onto one or two bones only.

Refer to your TS manual 'Bones and Skinning' regard adjusting the points 'skinned' on each bone..so that the arm vertices are connected to the arm bones etc.

Many times the 'deafult' skinning needs to be adjusted manualy.

Maybe you just have used the wrong button when attaching. Attach to bone attaches the mesh to one single bone. And so this mesh is just influenced by this bone. Attach skin to skeleton is the one that attaches the whole skeleton to the mesh. And this one should bend with all the bones then. As told by Humdinger there is still the need to tweak the influence of the single bones and joints until everything bends as wanted. Edit tendons and edit muscles ...
