just bought TS7 very recently, and have become rather annoyed about the maount of bugs and glitches im experiencing, so far i have been able to put up with most of it (although i didnt feel i should hace to) ive only just turned 18 and saved for quite a while on only a part time job income to purchase this with VRay, but i guess u cant have everything. The problem im experiencing now is the most annoying, i dont seem to be able to now use TS7 because most of the toolbars wont load, the 3D area will not load, all i get is the Scene Editor and one small toolbar, without the option to load a 3D space up or anything, if anyone could help this would be greatly appreciated, also can anyone tell me why that when i use scene editor my it hide loads of the toolbars whilst i use it therefore making it harder to use and frustrating, and also why i the various different layouts that u can select from do not load at the top of my window is it is becoming rather difficult to animate without the animation layout which i assume makes my job a lot easier

Regarding the disappearing toolbars-did you close down TS using the X in the top right? If you did, this i the wrong way as it only closes one of the windows. In your minimised toolbar that shows up, can you see the windows style maximise icon (square next to the X)? Clicking that usually does the trick. Failing that you can hold down CTRL when you start TS or delete the default.ctx file.

Hope this gets you out of a pickle...and remember, the UI is quite different to TS6 and earlier and often what seems like a bug or glitch, is actually intentional. It takes some getting used to but it is better in the end...:)

no i mean glitches such as closing down when subtraction is used, or simply when a hdri map is selected lol, without sounding too sarcastic and ant social, i doubt they are intentional, perhaps its just my computer or something, though i thought it was all fine

Been testing Ts7 for a few years now and I have never some across your HDRI problem. I have had the occasional crash on subtraction but I more often I get a warning that it cannot be done. Without knowing your setup and way of working it is impossible to diagnose this without the usual; check drivers, reinstall TS7 and patch. Make sure you backup any inportant files if you do decide to reinstall and remove all traces of tS7-don'e just reinstall over. A good starting point might be to delete your default.ctx and see if that helps. Remember also to save your custom layouts and export them for loading later.

Animation layout will no doubt help you...as for missing tabs, this sounds like a driver problem. Nvidia drivers are a bit problematic at the moment and are you running in 32 bit colour? Ideal resolution is 1280x1024.

If none of these help, I would be so bold as to suggest problems with your PC as the cause here rather than TS7...:o

i do have an NVidia, thats probably why lol, shouldve probly gotten an ATI after all, but the box!!!! oooh the box was sooo good! lol the HDRI problem occured when VRay was selected as renderer, was weird but it may have stopped now, i guess when i get more into the swing of things, ill work around any bugs and stuff before they even occur lol

If you search the forums here there are a set of Forceware drivers suggested by tech support that are stable. Apparently the newer ones introduced some old problems.

I have ATI and had no trouble throughout the beta cycle or to this date...Caligari have no preference but there are well documented Nvidia problems...trust me, this has been going on a long time...

If you would like the Scene Editor to stay open within your current layout, hold the Ctrl key down, drag the title bar, and dock it where you want it. You can also do this with other panels as well.
If you saved your custom layout, you have to select again if and when you restore the Default context.

Matski: Re: layout probs - although it might not be the same as what happened with you, you might want to read this thread (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=935), as I figured out a few things about layouts & how to get toolbars back that you may find useful.
