This was unexpected! - I just got an email from Caligary for the 7.11 update? - Any ideas what it updates? - downloading now...

update: I should probably read the rest of the email!

---------------------
Dear trueSpace7 owner,
A patch has just been released to update trueSpace7 to version trueSpace7.11. This upgrade improves program stability, mostly in physics simulation area but also in library and file system, preventing inadvertent loss of libraries in certain cases when users moves objects to non standard folders.
Downloading
To download, use the link provided in this email. Once downloaded, simply run the patch, and your copy of trueSpace will be updated. Although your libraries will not be deleted or altered by the patch, you may still want to back up your libraries (scenes, layouts, objects, etc) from inside trueSpace7 as a standard precaution when carrying out any upgrade.
We hope you enjoy trueSpace7.11!

Hi, I got the Update too, No Problem. I still can't figure out why My Trueplay application won't display Background preferences of record with preferences set during record. I set background to black but Grey is still shown on Trueplay window. The Player has Preference setting for the Ground but I have to set it every time in trueplay. Otherwise it didn't change after Update. Any Help on this would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott

Errrrrrrr...Okay Xmanflash is over 8,000 miles away and Steinie is over 2,000 miles away, I am a little over 100 miles away. I see how I rate.

Zrad: As far as I know there is no way to have the background set automatically, but you can set the floor grid. Bring the Floor Ground object from the Library/DX Components/View into the Link Editor and change the colors in the tiles. Also a little trick I use for the background color is change the Zoom to 1000. Try different settings and experiment with it.

Anyone not receiving an email should email me, thomas@caligari.com. It won't be possible to track down those who missed out from message board postings :)

Tech support are always good to contact in that eventuality, or even customer services. Generally, message boards are not a good place to report an issue such as not receiving notification of patches, since the people who can control that won't actually see the post. I do my best to monitor the forums, but there are days and threads that I have to miss, and it shouldn't be a hit or miss thing that we hear about your problem :)

Thanks!

Tom

Here's an interesting wrinkle..... I installed the 711 patch and now trueSpace will not launch.

Instead, I'm getting a "ts7.exe - Entry Point Not Found" Window. The subject states "The procedure entry point IwDetectHDRIMap Type could not be located in the dynamic link library Lipro.dll"

The initiat was from a physical trueSpace CD with all locations set at software default. The OS is XP Home SP2.

Ideas, Anyone??

Hi all,

Do remember that install issues etc are best raised by email or phone with tech support. Although we maintain a good presence on these forums, there is no way we can monitor and catch every post, and this is especially true of tech support - if you just post on the forums, you may be overlooked or left waiting!

Install issues are major and you should go straight to tech support to get the help you need and avoid the very real risk of being overlooked here. It also lets tech support get into all the back and forth q & a that is needed to diagnose a problem too.

Always worth mentioning - message boards and forums are great for some sort of communication, but not for others. Do contact tech support if you have not already :)

HTH!

I believe this scenario indicates you tried to install the patch to trueSpace7.0, rather than to trueSpace7.1. If this is the case, download the trueSpace7.0 to trueSpace7.1 patch and install. This should bring your version to trueSpace7.1 as the "about box" will indicate. Once you are at version 7.1, you can apply the trueSpace7.11 patch.

Those who were already at version 7.1 would have experienced no problems with the update.

Hope is helpful.

Tom - Sorry for my inappropriate posting. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Norm - Thanks for the info. I'll check it out tonight.

Hi Dave,

Oh, not an inappropriate posting - my concern here is not that this post is in the wrong place, it's that you won't receive the help you need as fast as you ought (or maybe not at all, if it gets overlooked).

It's not that we don't want these items posted here, just that posting here could mean an unnecessary delay in getting the help you deserve :)

HTH!

Thanks, Tom! Your point is well taken. I'll pursue Norm's suggestions this evening. If that doesn't work, I'get with tech support.

Not to be boring...... Just in case anyone is following this thread, Norm was correct in diagnosing my install problem. I had downloaded 7.1 ..... but installing it somehow fell off my "To Do" list.

There should be a moron prize for stuff like this.....:o

Thanks to all!
