Hi all,
I know you guys are probably sick of hearing this question, but ive scoured the net and not managed to find a comprehensive tutorial that takes u through modelling a reasonably complicated object like a aerospace aircraft, robot, helicopter all the way through to texturing and rendering it.
I've seen all of moonmans and all the ones on the caligari site. Could anyone point me to some comprehensive tutorials or maybe could an experienced user possibly create one?
tia,

Don´t limit yourself to trueSpace tutorials only. Most other tutorials written for other software are most of the times easily adoptable. Box Modeling is a techniqe, not a software ;) |

I wouldn't have said that better. You can get used to a software's interface by using it (no tutorial will help you about that); the techniques are there, and if you can make a model by "extruding faces" then you can do the same by "sweeping faces"
See, I went thru a Maya course, and 99% of the things I learnt can be used in trueSpace: similar tools/techniques, different names/buttons. |

Did you miss my links?
Check the "Worlds Biggest" link it's not Truespace but I also agree they are all related and similar. |

Thanks for those wise words guys. Ive always looked at these superbly written and presented tutorials made for maya, 3d studio max etc and wished for truespace versions of them, it never crossed my mind that i cud just "adapt" them to the TS interface.
Will also look at trueBlue's and Steinie's links.
thanks again guys |

It seems most other tutorials are based around adding a blueprint of the desired object to the background of the viewport.
How do i do this in TS? I looked at "image browser" and even tried adding it to "material library", but couldnt work it out.
Please advise someone  |

I have a few links up to both general tutorials and truespace tutorials here also: http://www.deledesigns.com/tutorials.htm
As for the background reference images, you can map the image onto a plane to model against. I would also put the reference images on a separate layer so you can lock them in place. In TS7 this works really well on the player side as the realtime view is very good. It is a little harder to see in previous versions but can still help to guide you.

Where is the image based rendering option?

You can check out this simple Character modeling tutorial for 3D-Max.
It will works too with Truespace (it would be helpful to own the Polytools Plinn for TS)
http://mr2k.3dvf.net/tutorials/max/tutorials_joan.htm
And i saw somewhere a Nissan 350 Car-Boxmodeling Tutorial for Max that will works too in TS |
