This is an error I receive when moving around in my current scene. It pops up 2 or 3 times in a row and the object name changes to different objects names with in the scene.

Any ideas?

In this same scene I had three objects glued together. I was just clicking between different views and the three objects went wild. They each turned 90 degrees on their individual Y axis' instead of rotating as a whole glued object. Also, they were stretched in their Z axis by about 3 times. I tried the Undo command, but it didn't do anything. I am unaware of a command that will rotate each object in this manner and stretch all in one click.;)

I then moved and unstretched everything back as it was. It then did it again after about 2 hours more modelling had been ompleted and it was the same objects.

Should I save these objects as a .cob file and re-introduce them back into the scene?

Is this issue releated to the error message above?

Which 'different views' were you swapping between - Model and Player views or just different views within the Modeller or Player?

The errors you are seeing are almost certainly tied to the message displayed. The Model and Player are effectively different applications with data (objects, materials, lights and so on) being exchanged between them. The mechanism that provides this exchange is called the Bridge and something has happened to break the Bridge.

If you go to the Preferences view in the Stack then look in the Desktop section, there is a setting for BridgeSync. If you turn this to off then look at the Player and Model views, one of them may show the correct objects. If so, then save them to a library, re-start tS and load them back in.

With the Bridge set to 'Off' it's best to stick to either the Model or Player view. In fact, it's better to swap between them as little as possible with hierarchical objects as these are especially difficult to synchronise. There's a whole appendix devoted to this subject in the Artist's Guide.

Is there possibility to give us the object for the inspection? The error displays if any of algorithms transforming data from Modeler to Player fail or there may be another bugs. Some of these have been fixed for 7.02 but we'd better check it..

I have been using the Model view exclusively. I will try the toggle switch you mentioned. I had been switching between top and side views.

I can and will forward a .cob file to you with the texture maps in a .zip file if this works for you. Just let me know where to send it.

I opened up the same scene today to find a new issue. When it first came up the black objects were the default color white with shadows. Then they switched to black just before I hit the print screen button. The black objects seem to have lost the location of where the textures are placed. All the textures in this scene are from the same location and were working fine. See below.

Here is what I get when I use the eyedropper to sample the black area. It seems to remember the image settings but the image name has been changed to what appears to be image size information.

Actually how large is the image?
If it's over the size limit ( 4000 Px ) it'll render black.
If it's 256 X 256 like the image name info states then ignore this post- the problem lies elsewhere.

It is the 256x256 size. It was working fine until I received the initial error message.

Ok...I switched over to the Player mode and everything reappeared as it was supposed to.

Then I came back to the Model mode and here's what I saw. It was fine for about 3 seconds then jumped to what you see below. The building was created from a hexgon that was extruded. Then I adjusted some sides and did some subtractions. The stuff to the right side was an original object side and used the URepts =6 VRepts=1. This is what appears in the material editor while using the eyedropper. The building walls to the right side were formed by subtracting a cube from the hexagon. You can see each one of those are at URepts =4 VRepts=3. The upper objects are still fine.

I again jumped from Model to Player and back to Model mode and here is the result. This time I eyedroppered previous bad side and you can see the RSTemp directory it is pointing to and why the image names are different. The objects which are working fine in the scene still have textures which work correctly and point to the folder I originally referenced.
