Would seem perhaps you did not shut down trueSpace7 properly.

Hold down the control-key when you start up trueSpace next time. Select default configuration from the startup dialog. This should fix you up.

One of the "few icons" you see will allow you to open the layout library where you can choose a layout and carry on.

It would seem that this issue has been resolved, but the same thing has happened to me several times. Most of the time, I was able to resolve it using the "Restore Default context button" from the "left over" icons. Caligari Tech Support recommended that TS7 always be shut down using the Shut Down button available on one of the toolbars, and not using the "X" on the upper right. Hope my input is of help.

I was having the same problem in TS6.5...when i tried to save an object it I got Runtime Error 217 at 05c0b37a, everytime. Opening TS with the control key and selecting default preferences fixed the problem. Thank TS Tech support.

There is a way to reopen tS without having to re customize after a default start.

Browse down your directory tree until you get to the folder where you keep saved objects and scenes; .scn and .cob files and double click on either. These files should already be set to open in tS but if not you can right click the file and select "Open With...". This will give you the opportunity to specify what program (tS) they should open.

tS will open either as a newscene if you double click a .cob file or in the scene you clicked.

At this point you might be able to reopen the scene you were working on. If not, hopefully you have back-up scenes that you won't have to backtrack too far.

At least you don't have to spend half a night resetting your preferences.

[EDIT]:
A little unclear the way I worded this but this recovery method is intended to be tried BEFORE a default restart>(CTRL/S start)

Funny, I had the same thing happen to me last week. I shut down TS using the X in the top left of the window. I uninstalled TS then reinstalled.

Then, just to prove I can be a real idiot, I did the same thing again two days later. Fortunatley, I played around with the remaining buttons that were still on the screen and stumbled onto the restore default button. I pressed it and presto, I was back in business. But now I am darn sure to shut down TS7 the correct way!:jumpy:

Ooops, I mean the X in the top right of the window.
