The image below on the left shows a simple cube showing the object selection box in light blue surrounding the cube.
On the right I have rotated the cube 45 degrees. The object selection box stays oriented to the world coordinates. How can I make it rotate 45 degrees also and line up with the cube again so I can scale the cube and not distort the box. :confused:
(I did rotate the view slightly on the right image)

Put your mouse on the absolute corner of the blue selector and click and drag to scale equally in all directions. |

I agree with you on that using the corner will adjust the scale uniformly.
I want to be able to stretch the cube in one direction. If the blue object selector box were lined up with the object again, I could then stretch a side by grabbing the edge of the blue selector box or move the cube at a 45 degree just by grabbing the middle of the blue selector box.
If I use the selector box on the right side image as it is shown, the cube will become distorted if I stretch the cube side or the cube will move at 90 degrees if I try to move it. |

Switch to "Object" coordinate system. You can find the selector for the coordinate system at the top of the screen just to the left of the "X", "Y", "Z" buttons. |

If the default hotkeys haven't changed in tS7- that is, if they are the same as tS6, then just press the Q key.
If they are the same, then:
Q= Object Coord system
W= World Coord system
E= Screen Coord system
If the hotkeys are different in tS7 then simply use the appropriate ones. |

It would seem they are, I just tried it & it worked. :) |

Another option is to grab the little yellow ball on the outside of the cage and place it on a face. The cage will then be temporarily aligned with the face. This works well when you are wanting to temporarily align the cage with a face that is not aligned with the object axis. |

Bill, that little yellow ball trick is awesome! I wonder how many TS users know about that. Thanks man, that's one of those features that will make things alot easier for me. |

Hey thanks alot guys! (and gals if there were any!);)
I had accidently in the past made the object coordinate feature work but could not repeat it when needed.
Spacekadet, thanks for the hotkeys info.:) I'm sure I'll be using those mostly...very helpful.
And Bill.....that is an awesome little trick! I never used that yellow ball for anything before. If anything it was in my way and I was always moving it.
Below I posted an image of the actual Object Coordinate button from TS6.6:
