OK, does anybody know what these are? I came across the CGS section in the manual and brought up the dialog box to use them, but there are no shaders in the dialog box, there is no '\shaders\global\' directory, and there is no hint as to what the custom shader file extension might be.

Were there any sample shaders provided with tS7 that we can put into the 'global' directory, or are any available elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for any comments, and I apologize if this has already been discussed previously.

These are usually post-process shaders like some in the wfmm 'Coolpowers' (http://sourceforge.net/projects/freecp/) suite.
Yamaneko DOF is another (it's on Shaderpak1)
U|V (http://tsx.uvworx.com/) also had several Global Shaders - these came on one of the Paks and I don't know if they are available seperately.
Search your hard drive for *.TSS or *PPS files.

These are "post process" shaders - they work on the render itself once produced, rather than at render time. The main examples have been listed there - there was also Red Shift I believe, another set of such shaders, if my memory serves me rightly.

You'll find they are things like glow shaders, or contrast / brightness shaders etc.

HTH!
