Hello

1. Is it possible to prevent TS7 from loading the startscene

2. The manipulating of toolboxes is very strange. Is there anyone who could write a short manual. ( perhaps we could gather our questions and later the answers)

2a. If I delete some icons, where could I find them again. (I know the iconfinder, but what's about the new icons?)

2b. What is the difference between the four sizes of icons. Can I resize them?

2c. Which icon is only for modeler and which icon for player, how can I know?

2d. Why could it happen, that some toolboxes appear under other toolboxes, so they are not visible?

...

grettings

Not that I know. Same here

At the end of each icon array is a small button that says "reload prototype". If you click that the original layout is restored.

2d. Why could it happen, that some toolboxes appear under other toolboxes, so they are not visible?

I was wondering too. Even in the default layout the file menu is hidden. Don't ask me why this hasn't been fixed.

btw, have a look @ http://www.3d-ts-forum.de, you might find that useful.

1 ..I agree, can't stop auto load, but I want to turn it off..auto load in old preferences panel doesn't work [it should have been removed]

2a ..there also is an icon called "toolbars"[found on left side in the default layout] which will replace whole toolbars..

in partial answer to 2b.. look hear..http://forums.caligari.com/discus/messages/74/20770.html?1138406116

there you can find a custom toolbar for one small set of icons..thanks to Paul Woodward..

also a method to size icons by Tomasb

2c..it is easier in full screen layout..then model tools hide and player tools appear when you change tabs.. but a few stay regardless..like plugins on their own toolbar won't hide when changing to player, but they can't be used..??

2d.. toolbars hiding under toolbars shouldn't happen ..but does.. ..it's frustrating..

Just a thought, but if you know you won't want the scene you have open to be re-opened the next time you run tS, you could click New Scene before closing tS, that's what I do.

yes Alien, that is what I do too, when I remember..shouldn't have to though..it used to be an option..there is a non-functional autoload checkbox on the old preference panel they could use. it used to do the job quite nicely, now it's unemployed..looking for a function in life..:D

Hey, it's work :jumpy: the aspect view bar icon become bigger.

But how to make it (all toolbar icons) become smaller

I need smaller one because of my low screen resolution:rolleyes:

I believe that link that was posted on the info from Tomasb on how to make them bigger shows how you can make them whatever size you want.

Or you could do what I'm doing & save up for a new monitor. :) Although my monitor can do resolutions higher than 1024x768, it can't do them at a high enough refresh rate to avoid giving me a headache, so I'm saving for a 19" LCD. If you can't afford an LCD, or even a cheap new CRT, you may be able to find a cheap refurbished/2nd hand CRT.

If at all possible, I'd say a new monitor is the way to go, as tS7 was [so I've heard] intended for a resolution of 1280x1024.

Hi again

I know, but the reason why I asked:

My TS7 had problems to find some texture files and so I had to hit cancel on and on.

At last I decided to give up the scene and tried to start TS without a autoload-scene. I think it would be a good idea for the programmers to give us a start option (like holding CTRL-key or so) to load TS7 without a scene.

Martin:
I think what you are looking for (Use Default Configuration) is explained in the Help Command when you hold the Ctrl key down when you open trueSpace.

FYI: I do not think it opens gameSpace though. Muhahahahahaha
