Anyone know how to turn off object rendered when we apply a material to an object?
Just hate to wait for auto object's material render when I apply a material to an object. And it's some time cuase error when work with vray. |

I'm not sure about 7, but in <6 you just hit Esc key to cancel object render. |

If working in wireframe mode this will happen, try painting when in DirectX mode, shouldn't need to redraw the object, this also helps when working with Vray as this can cause some problems.

Johnny: What Spacekdet mentioned - hitting the Esc key to prevent redrawing - is what I've always done in older versions.
However I want to mention that in trueSpace 7, when using Vray, if the active window is standard wireframe as opposed to DirectX then you may get some crashes. Mine crashed whether I pressed Esc or not.
The solution, as one user pointed out, was to switch to DirectX instead of standard wireframe.
This worked in my situation but it also should work in yours whether you use Vray or not - because in DirectX the object is not re-drawn. (You should see only the realtime color change.) |

I just noticed that too.
Also I glanced at your location and saw "Mississ..." and thought "Woo hoo! Another Mississippi user!"
...then I read the name a bit closer.
LOL! |

I work in DX mode. and it's sometime crassed sometime not.
I found that if I want to avoid crass while apply material, I need to zoom out until whole object can be view in draw window.
is there anyway to turn 'apply materal auto render' off? |

Not that I know of, have you tried draggin the material to the object, or using the material editor and just replace the texture with a new one. I don't know if many people are aware of this feature it's new to ts7 See Pic.

I would also like to mention that you can save all the materials used in the scene to a new library, very handy.
Thanks for the points btw.;) |

If you use a DirectX Solid view rather than wireframe, the object doesnt render at all. The screen just redraws in the graphics card (massively fast) and no rendering is done.
