I can't for the life of me get TS 7 tork work in my other monitor. is there a way to set it's preferences. I guess I could alway change my monitors. I just moved my machine and must've switched monitor positions, but I fixed which was my primary monitor in my vid card settings. TS is the only program I'm having trouble reassigning.

This link covers most of the issues with dual monitor use.

You must use Floating or Dual Screen to use two monitors.

You must use "extend to" on secondary to get things to work.

This should give you a start if you have not already got things to work.

Thanks Mitch,

But that didn't really help. My problem is getting it to open in my primary monitor. I don't wish to extend it to two. When I drag it to the other monitor, it begins to act strange.

I didn't reply to the initial post as I wasn't clear on exactly what was happening [or not, as the case may be], but you can use tS7 on 2 screens with any layout, you just have to make sure to save the layout. You can either right click on an existing layout in the layout library & click Replace, or you can right click in an empty space in the Library & then click Insert.

Please bear in mind that tS7 will only make a screenshot of your primary screen, regardless of whether you've actually got tS7 on the primary or secondary screen. The simple work around for this is to just use the Print Screen key on your keyboard then paste in to your favourite 2D app & edit & resize to a suitable size, then use the change Layout Image on the layout in question in the library.

If I move one of my windows from the 1st screen to the second, the window completely corrupts and smears all over the place on the second screen. I am using a GeForce FX5900. I suspect that the second screen doesn't support DX or overlay.

From the ReadMe.rtf file in the trueSpace7\ts\ folder

trueSpace7 does not work correctly with nVidia drivers newer than 78.01 because of the driver bug introduced in the later version of the drivers. The symptoms include failure to start (freeze at splash screen) or incorrect rendering in Direct3D engine. Drivers that fix the issue are marked as 83.41 and should be available in mid February 2006. Owners of the nVidia cards experiencing problems with trueSpace are strongly encouraged to install drivers version 78.01 until version 83.41 or newer is available.

This is what was going on with mine too. I rebooted this morning and things were switched up backwards, icons on the wrong side. Curious behavior on its own, but I was able to mess with the settings to get TS7 on the right monitor.
