Is there a way to set the scale to real world measurement rather than having to work with units? I know the model side does this but what about workspace.

umm.... I know that already :D But it is sometimes nice to be able to model by using real world measurements rather than having to convert everything yourself.

If you want to scale from meter to something else then you can select the whole scene and scale it up or down. ;)

Keep in mind that many of the real-world type render engines, VRay, YafaRay, Kerkythea expect 1 unit to equal a specific measurement like 1 meter or 1 centimeter and will render light accordingly.

Ahhh that's ok im used to modelling in units anyway. Deled only works in units as well. It's just I knew you can model like this on the model side so I thought ther was a way to do the same in WS.

Really im just on a learning binge and exploring the crap out of the workspace :)

As far a real time renderers for lighting......I've never used them so I guess im ok. Everything I make and have ever made is mainly all low poly and ment for DBPro. I use darkphysics/Nvidia Physx which also is based around the idea of 1 unit = 1 meter. So normally using deled, I would model everything on the idea of 1 unit = 1 cm or 1 half inch then from there I would just scale everything down to size when I export.

On the model side I found it pretty handy that you could model everything based on true measurements. This way I had no need to worry about how much to scale the object down by sinse it would already be the size that i would need it.

This is one thing that I have always found annoying between a model editor and a csg editior, is the fact that most csg editors if not all, only allow you to create objects as small as one unit. This is the thing I found with DBPro too. if you were load an object by itself at 1 unit and ran the code, That object would look pretty big by default. that's because dbpro is the same as TS in the way that it views objects, so you could imagine what a floor alone would look like from a csg editor if I were to load it without scaling.

Because i have been exploring WS so deaply, I found things about it that, well you can say I won't be modeling worlds using any csg editors any more. the only program that is still of use to me is deled and that is because it can export multitextured objects to DBO format for dbpro.
