I have an HP Pavilion DV3-1075US laptop with Ati Radeon HD 3200 graphics and Vista Home Premium 64bit with 4gigs of memory. I am having trouble trying to create even the basic primative on the new workspace side the cursor arrow keeps blinking, on the model side it is white and the main screen is rubbed in when you go over it.

Unsure what is meant about the screen being white and rubbed in, a screenshot would help there. The graphics processor there is not a great one, but should work even if it won't be flying along.

It could be a graphics driver issue of course, always more tricky with mobile GPUs as they are often tied to the laptop manufacturer and you can't always update and keep up to date as you can with a desktop machine. Maybe share what driver you have too, and others with the same GPU can comment on whether they have tS working fine or not. Meantime, check with the website from your laptop manufacturer and see if you can get the latest drivers installed.

It is especially odd that both Model and workspace are giving you problems, as both are totally different real-time render engines, and Model side is old and so compatible with DX8 (ie it runs on graphics cards that are 6 or 7 years old!). This is why I suspect a driver issue.

HTH!
