Imagine a flashlight shining through a yellow tinted window unto a wall.

This is how Vray 'imagines' it:

Scene file here:

There are no transparent shadows only caustics (and GI)

Interesting, but not a real limit, by adjusting just a couple of settings you can achieve a variety of results

reduced the 1000 photons down to 100 to speed rendering also factor to 1.5 and distance to 1.4 other than the extra objects its the same scene.

Would you care to post that scene ?

Edit: forget it, if its the same scene just more objects and changed parameters.

Can you explain the square light on the wall :) ?

Most likely part of a known V-Ray error, where rounded items can become "squared" when projected, eg a projector light in V-Ray showed a similar thing where a circular texture would become square when used in a projector light.

HTH!

Yea its interesting, must say id never really noticed the squaring thing before your post, as Tom says it must be a bug which is one of the reasons vray users are DROOLING! for a long overdue update, at a guess though i would imagine there is unlikely to be any updates, if M$ bought truespace for VE then they wouldnt give a toss about render engines and would probably be more focused on direct export/upload of models to VE servers etc.

Man, I'm thankful for what I've got! Even though improvements are due, I enjoy working with what I have.
