Hello, i have a little problem with dribble and 3Delight.

I setup a simple test scene. A plane, a sphere, a cam - nothing else, no light etc. I only switched on the "enable" button on the gi tab in the dribble plugin. Now, here is the result:

well...maybe i'm wrong but i think this image should look different. For me it looks like as is the light invertet.

You can also see my material - nothing special, a simple color, no bump, no reflection. Also my render options are visible.

I have no idea - please, please help and tell me what i'm doing wrong.

PS: I'm using ts6.6, dribble 1.0.4wip080808 and 3Delight 6.5

Firstly, I think you need version 7 of 3delight or better for the latest patch (I'm not sure).

If you check the occlusion tab the shadows will darken. You may have to crank up the intensity to make the gi effect more obvious.

You can also check the "use for irradiance" box and the "more accurate box" if you want the same effect for photon mapping. GI in Dribble is currently buggy in 3dL8 so unfortunately I can't give you exact settings.:)

Thanks for the tipps.

Now i downloaded and installed the latest version of 3Delight (8.0.1), by the way my version was not 6.5 (i've got this out of the help file), it was the 7.0.0.

I setup the license key, wrote the correct hostname into the "rendermn.ini" file and startet 3Dlight correctly - all steps as given in the manual.

Anyway, it doesn't work. I got the same result except that i now can not render in any view - i see the percent from 0 to 100% in the statusbar but nothings happen on my screen. I can render to file but the result is the same as before.

Well, this makes me really sad. I hoped that i get a better render engine for TS6 but i looks as has the dribble plugin the same problem as TS himself...buggy...

You don't need to do anything except copy your license.dat that NDA e-mailed you into the main 3delight folder.

There are updated 3DL 8 shaders available for Dribble (you need them); there's a link in one of the 3delight threads. You may also need a new license.dat for 3DL 8.0, but I don't think so.

If this doesn't work you can try reinstalling 3delight, and maybe dribble as well for safety. This worked for me. It really isn't too difficult, I'm not sure why so many people have problems with dribble.

Splinters and I both had to reinstall Dribble at the end to get a render. We got the 0-100% too and this fixed it. The very last thing I did was put the new shaders in the shader directory. Your "almost" there DesignDevil.

So, now i deinstalled dribble and 3Delight (v8). Then i have done this:

- I installed 3Delight and restartet my pc

- I inserted the license file and the shader files

- I startet 3Delight

- I installed dribble

- I created a scene (simple plane with fur in green, a white cylinder and a blue sphere)

Here is the result:

As you can see - it renders and it looks no longer nagative but now i have a new problem. Whatever i do, if i add lights or not, if i activate gi or not, if i try to use hdri - or even not.......the render looks always the same. (like the pic above)

I don't know where the problem is, ts, dribble, 3Dlight, me???
