I am trying to move an object in to an already grouped object using the link editor but I can't do it...

How do you do? You can't drag and release them on the object you want it to join, that don't work.

I would also like to know how to move an object out of a group in LE.

One way would be to select your group and your other object and then 3D Encapsulate them together.

The problem with that solution is that it means that I have two objects inside that group.

What I want to do is simply to add another object to an already existing ecapsulation with the use of the LE.

The other way. Drop your other object into the group and hook up the Transform's WldMatrix to your object's OwnerMatrix just like the others are.
You can use this toolbar for Copy, Paste, and Ungroup:

This looks like what I was looking after. I will try this toolsbar tomorrow.

Thanks trueBlue! :jumpy:

Another way: Assuming you have one encapsulated object and want to add another object to it - enter the first object in the LE - open another LE window at the Scene level, drag and drop your second object from the Scene level LE window onto your original LE window. This will place a copy of your second object at the LE level you require.

Hook up Transforms WldMatrix as described by trueBlue.

Delete surplus secondary object from scene level and close extra LE window. Done!

HTH.
