I want to use an alpha-map on a plane. I made a TGA file and put it in the material editor for Vray and painted a plane. There is some transparency but it is not absolute and the red sphere shines through the gull instead of the background. see picture. In Modelside it works fine and the picture is made with the Vray render in model side, so it is not Vray related. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I haven't touched the lights after making a new scene.

though im really no expert on this it seems to me that you have the actual image in the transparency box instead of the black and white mask image and also dont have the actual image loaded into the colour box.

quick render to demo what i mean :)

Thanks Maldrachen, you make me think and I have figured it out. You can not load the original TGA file in the C-wrapped mask as you can do in 6.6. The material editor in Workspace seems to work differently. You need to make an additional TGA file with the picture in black and white and than it works. A bit cumbersome and I spend a long time fiddling.
