Ok I wanted to make a window in the "flintstone" rag top. So I select the paint brush and paint a bunch of faces and then I select delete vertices. So it makes a nice window that I want. however when I render it still shows the total cloth..no hole.

Try the Remove Face tool.

For some reason BB, I can never delete a face. I select them, but the tool does nothing.

I just select the faces I want to delete and press the delete key.

Note, that if the plane is double sided, you will need to delete the faces on both sides.

I think the delete face tool requires you to activate the tool and then click the faces you want to delete. It does not work on faces you already selected.

I think that is the case...

I don't think the delete will delete faces, it requires yoiu to use the icon 'delete face'. Works that way in silo but not truespace.

Select the face than delete as Jack suggests works in TS WS side also.

I'm at work now and have only have version 7.51 installed and I have tired the delete key and it does not work that way in workspace side or modelspace. I will need to wait to get home to see if it works the way you say in 7.6, but I don't think so unless that were changes made to the model side of truespace from version 7.51 to 7.6.

The reason I say this is that its one one the features I like about silo. If a point, edge, or face is selected, hitting the delete key will delete it. TS has seperate icons for deleteing a point and for deleting a face, but I don't think there is an icon for deleting an edge.

:)

Will get back later.

I am using TS7.6 and above and it is a feature their. I made sure I deled a couple of faces that way before I posted my message, it is the way I do it all of the time though.
Not model side, I am talking WS side, you would need the PolyTools plugin to do that on that side...

Delete Elements via delete key press is a workflow improvement new with 7.6 (workspace side). One that I was very glad to see, especially considering in 7.51 the delete key would always delete the whole model.

TAB key to hide widgets while selecting is handy as well. ;)

Ok, I've tried it in TS7.6 and you are right, it does work that way in TS7.6, whether you select a vertex, edge, or face.
