Hi all

Still running thru the viperfish video tutorial, the trouble is I drop a constant texture on to plane as per video, and the pattern is placed onto the plane ok, but where as I am supposed to get the thing tiled in 40 segments I only get 16. Then when I try to drag and drop the viperfish png file onto the constant texture icon, the png file cannot be dragged and dropped. How do I drag and drop it onto the constant texture icon?? I think Jack mentions pressing ctrl whislt dragging and dropping, tried it without success, sorry to say. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in anticipation

Russ :)

D3D material or Vray material? Because the answer is hugely different between the two.

Just realized what you were talking about, ctrl + double left click the icon with the texture on it to load a new one. Does that help or am I misunderstanding?

It is D3D material.

Thanks

Yeah then from there you locate your image and click open. After that loads it should be ok, if not next time I can respond is in about 2 hrs.

I think this was answered previously, try a quick forum search. The process for loading the texture onto the plane was changed with the tS7.6 upgrade.

HTH!

Hi Tom

Thanks for the reply, but I have managed to load the png onto the d3d texture. Now, the only thing is that the plane only has 16 segments on it instead og multiple segments and will not accept the png onto it for some reason.. Getting more distraught by the minute :)

Just cannot get the plane to multi tile so to speak and I am at a loss.

Thanks for your input Tom

Step by step with pictures.

1.Grab the texture called texture in the DX9 materials library.

2.Drag it onto the plane.

3.Open the D3D material editor and click the sample material button to bring the settings up.

4.Ctrl + left click the square to the right where it says Diffuse Texture and select the appropriate image in the dialog box which comes up.

5.Paint the plane with the new texture if it doesn't automatically update.

Pictures below in order from left to right then downwards.

It was really no trouble at all, it took me all of 20s from start to post to do that for you, so no worries.:D
