I bought dribble yesterday. I really like it.

Because we can't use the conducter Shader is there a way to replicate the same effects using a supported shader?

If so what are the Shader settings and any other settings?

Thanks

What kind of material are you actually trying to create? Give as good a description as possible - or pphotos of something you are trying to replicate or even a lightworks render with the conductor material.

nothing specific really. Just trying to make a surface that reflects like a mirror. I really don't know anything about Dribble, lighting, or the materials.

The difference between Lightworks and Dribble is quite a lot. I Can get good results with lightworks but not the same with dribble.

Sorry I'm at work not home so I can't check right now but I think the best you can do at the moment is use the ts phong reflectance shaders and the reflection parameter. This will give a very clean bright reflection that's not really like metal and can be so mirror like that it is almost unbelievable - which I presume is why the metal and conductor shaders were developed.

I know that Simon has indicated that in the future simbiont/Dark Tree shaders will be able to be used in dribble. Looking forward to that option.

Ok, Thanks for your time.

I will see if I can get it to look decent.

That is going to be a really nice feature. Looking forward to that too :)

Got a nice new latop today...:)

Need a 3Delight license...:(

Now, I put the ipconfig/all into a CMD line and I get two results. The top one is the Lan card, the second is the wireless card.

Now I seem to remember when getting your license, to drop the 00 from the beginning and ignore the dashes so if my ip was

00-aa-bb-cc-12-aa

I enter aabbcc12aa in the host id area.

But I am not getting a license sent...:o

I have given advice on doing this but simply cannot remember (old age?)

Anyone advise on how to get the right ip and enter the right details to get the code?

|Cheers

EDIT: I ran the licutils line and got the right number (it was the top one) however, it had lower case letters so I have tried this and still no reply. I thought it was automated and sent instantly...

Ok, scrap that...the lower case one did the trick. In case anyone else gets stuck, use lower case letters and drop the two zeros from the beginning...:D

I just copy and pasted the Host ID. That did the trick for me.

Glad you got it working.:)

Could you put up those renders when you have enough time?:D

Sorry I really want to see what is possible :jumpy:

Thanks

Edit:
I got a good example of what I am trying to get to work
http://truespace.coolpowers.com/wp-content/gallery/dribble-features/materials.jpg
It is the sphere in the middle with really good reflections

No need for dribble for that type of render...just raytracing and a shiny material. Hdri does particularly well here too.

I will see if I can find any images but I am at work.

Yes, there is no need to use dribble. I am just trying to learn how use dribble effectively :)

I really just wanted to know if you can do that. If yes, how?

Because if I want to render something with dribble I might want to use a highly reflective shape/object.(if it is possible. I sure hope so because that is a dribble render):jumpy:

Thanks again
