Opening new 3d windows, they default to the blue background and solid grid etc.
I do not want to adjust the background/grid/antialiasing etc. settings for every 3d window I open.
I want 3d windows to open with my own settings, and not the default.
Here is my configuration

Clicking 3d window icon, the new 3d window opens with default configuration

There is no way to tweak this that i know of. A new created 3D window will unfortunately always open with the standard view. My very first clicks also leads to tweak the window ... |

you can tweak some of this.. I haven't found the right one for background colour yet, it may not be there, but can open a new d3d view with no grid and in solidwire. This is done by going in :\trueSpace76\tS\Scripts\preobjects and finding the nodes and altering them then putting them back.
D3DGrid.rsobj is the grid panel, when opened in LE it's called Workspace - Ground. I changed it from solid to none, saved it to a library then renamed it D3DGrid. Then you drag & drop it in windows explorer into :\trueSpace76\tS\Scripts\preobjects where it asks if you want to overwrite exist file. say yes and next time you open a new 3d view its your customized one.
LayerProperties.rsobj is the 'scene' panel, opens as 'layer render attributes'..set options resave same deal..noticed you have to have settings tab open so the changes to RA settings will take effect.
postprocess is there too.
this most probably will also alter you main 3d view's style after a reset too.. |

You could also use this script that would be independent of the Default Windows settings:

Just as a thought, saving your different configurations in different layouts will allow you to maintain your custom 3d window settings but limited to the layout choice you saved. Keeping current 3d window setting for new 3d window would make a nice option. |

Nice script trueBlue.
I researched LE a bit yesterday to see if I could learn something.
I learned that the command that the "3d window" icon issue is :
WindowsManager.CreateWindowFromCLSIDEx('default', 'default', 'default', '[Scene]', 1, '3D')
(EDIT: I now see that this command are in Window.Shortcuts.xml, I haven't edited this until now)
Saving/loading a layout ALSO saves/loads the library layout. That is not always wanted!
Id like my installed libraries to stay put if, for instance, I click "4View".
Thanks all. |
