I cant seem to find anything on this in either the vray manual or the TS manual but when i set my camera in the workspace and hit render, vray seems to offset the render slightly.

Am i missing a setting somewhere that comforms the window to the camera settings?

Here's an exaple of what i mean:

1st the workspace view:

Notice how much further down in the picture the building is in the resultant vray render:

Has anyone else noticed this or have a way of fixing it? here are my camera settings too:

Just incase you think this is just how i've cropped them i only cut out the toolbar at the top.

Also, can workspace camera have a 'safe area' box projected on them?

Bear in mind that the V-Ray render size does not automatically match your window size - your bottom render image is taller, adjusting the field of view.

You need to copy the window size into the V-Ray image size to ensure they are both identical in order to avoid the V-Ray window being different and so giving a different field of view. The icon in the top left of the window will let you access "Window Settings" which will display the size of the window - adjusting 3D window to match your V-Ray render, or vice versa, will ensure this doesn't happen.

Brilliant, thanks Tom, i had a horrible feeling it'd be something simple like that!

I would like an instant capture of those window values into the V-Ray image size, it would avoid this at all and be much easier all round and avoid possible confusion :) Something I can keep asking for / about I guess!

is there any setting to apply a 'safe area' box to a window? it could come in handy for composition and animation

Not on the workspace side - if you render from Model side, there is such a setting (can't recall if it is LW only, or if it would work with V-Ray on the Model side).

There is also the View setting which captures the selected window's size.
