Yesterday I switched the render to Virtualight to try out some renders. Today I tried to go back to Lightworks but it crashes every time. Did the switch in Model/TS6 files/Preferences/Renderer. I think I will have to reinstall. Sorry my email doesn't support the error reporting.

If you switch render engines midstream, you can encounter difficulty. If you had a new empty scene, you could do a switch. With existing content, there could be materials that are not compatible with the render engine you are switching to. The safest stance is to begin a scene with a render engine and keep the scene that way. You could then redo all the objects in the scene to a basic color scheme and safely save the new scene and change render engine. Then tailor the material for that engine.

Thanks for the quick reply. Tried your suggestion. Created a new project, new scene and loaded the default layout from the library browser (which I hope is reloading factory defaults) but still no luck.

Some users have encountered a Virtualight bug... sounds like you may have found it. There's a fix posted in the Tech Faq forum. Here's a Direct Link (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=73567&postcount=21). See if that will get you up and running. :)

Deleting truespace.cfg and restarting tS fixed the problem. This reset the renderer to Lightworks. Thanks.:)

You're welcome. :)

If you want to use virtualight, do the regedit fix. :)
