Is there any way of changing how the mouse relates to the interface, specifically with the speed of the zoom and moving of points and objects when modeling? I know I can hit shift to speed up the zoom, but it's still too slow, and I hate having to do this anyway.

So can I map how far a point moves when I move the mouse, or how far the view zooms when I scroll the mouse? Both of these functions have far too much lag, and are turning me off modeling in 7.6.

View-rotate is fine, so it's not all bad.

If you want to experience an interface that has this stuff nailed, have a look at hexagon. It's the most fluid modeling tool I've ever used, and a benchmark for most other apps imo.

Here is a script that will open up the Background Widget's nodes in the Stack/Panels where you can adjust the Wheel Sensitivity for Perspective and Ortho Views. Make note of their default settings as I notice that their attribute's Reset does not work. Also if you Reset to Default Context, well the defaults will be reset. Unless you overwrite the Widgets.RsObj and save it for a backup for re installation. I wrote/posted a script that does this but I should update it, and I will. If you need this just say so.

I am not 100% sure that all of the above is the correct but it does seem to work for me. So use at your own risk. Thanks for the idea as I have just upped the Wheel sensitivity for myself and it works much better.
I do not like to use Shift + MMB (Wheel) as that changes the FOV of the Eye Camera and it can become distorted.

Opps I just checked Ortho and that is changing the FOV. Let me look at this somemore and I will let you know. :o

Increasing the wheel sensitivity in the perspective control doesn't seem to change the fov, at least in a camera view. This is exactly what I wanted, thanks.:)

What does Enable X and Y, and Speed X and Y, give you control over?

Hummm after further looking at this in with regards to Ortho FOV that is the only setting availible. But distortion (I guess) is not an issue in Ortho Views.
In Perspective if I enable Y and disable X the Wheel moves the view up and down. I am not sure about the X and Y speeds as I am not seeing any results so far.

This assumes you have the default Point Edit Widget and not a customized one. This script will show the PE Widget's nodes in the Stack/Panels. I adjusted the Bars - SpeedX up a little (0.090) for faster movement of mesh elements.
Edit: Added button for the Triangles - SpeedY + SpeedY you'll need to adjust both.

That's great. :)

Changing the x speed doesn't seem to affect the speed of the widget when you move using free movement, only using restricted movement (x, y or z), however this is still a dramatic improvement.

Thanks.
