HI - I'm working through the videos and documentation to learn TS7.6 - in the video Getting Started With TS7, chapter 4c about the redorder, there is an exercise where a shape is constructed.

After setting select by loops, and trying to sweep a middle section of a subdivided cube, the sweep tool is only working in the Z-axis, so the slice gets thinner in the -Z direction, indtead of expanding outward in the XY plane as shown in the video.

Is there a control somewhere that dictates the direction of sweep? Can't find much info about these tools in the very sketchy documentation..

thanks,

Leigh

I'm not familiar with that tutorial but there are two things you can try right away.
1) Use the X, Y, Z icons to lock planes.

or

2) Try the OTHER sweep tool called dynamic sweep

Thanks Steinie -

OK - I think I see what happened - the tutorial next has you use a tool "sweep face in normal direction"which is not IN TS7.6 - Dynamic sweep seems to have replaced it and will do what the 7.1 tutorial suggests.

Thanks again!
