How I can get such a smooth cone: The side surface area of the cone is supposed to be perfectly smooth (as at smooth material) but the base of the cone is supposed not to be smoothed. The auto material settings with the given angle isn't giving the smooth surface perfectly. (It is possible in others programs for modeling Softimage e.g.) Post by TomG // Jul 29, 2008, 4:08am TomG Total Posts: 3397 The smoothing options are faceted, autofacet and smooth. You can apply these per face if you like (select faces in point edit, then select the kind of smoothing you want) so you could make the bottom faceted, and the rest autofacet or smooth.
