Hi all,

Now that TS 7.6 is free, will there be an SDK to allow the creation of third party tools? I seem to remember reading something to that effect in the TS7.6 notification e-mail, but I don't find a SDK download link anywhere on the site.

Some finishing touches to get the SDK ready for release. Should be available in short term (30 days).

SiW (aka maker of dribble) I hope you are taking note! :D A lot of us would love to see dribble ported to workspace - lots of potential new customers too as I'm sure you know!

Best of luck with the SDK for all potential developers I look forward to seeing what comes online in the not too distant future.

Cool. I will be looking forward to it. I am not a plugin developer, but I am hoping that the true potential of Rosetta can now be exploited!

Brushing up on ATL programming in Visual Studio will help anyone interesting in developing plugins for TS get started much faster when the SDK comes out. UI building in ATL is a fair bit different from straight up MFC work.

Cool! I've been dabbling in plugin development for other 3D applications and it would be great to code up some cool stuff for TS! I just need to get a book on ATL, and dig through the MSDN stuff I have on my development machine...

Which versions of Visual Studio will be supported/needed for plugin development?

Anytime Mike. Glad to help.

As a prelude to the SDK, do note that, if you understand the current scripting capabilities, you will get a long way in understanding the SDK. The reason is, the function formats for scripted and compiled versions are very similar.

The hard part is understanding the ATL programming aspect. :)

And if you understand ATL programming, well, then, you are way ahead of the game!
