I encountered some problems with truespace 7.6 while rendering the current view with "Render Scene" or "Render a portion of the screen". The image gets complete distorted. "Render Scene to File" or "Render current object" works fine. Does anyone else has the same problem. I noticed it on a Dell Precision Laptop with Windows Vista 64bit. The Screen Resolution is 1920x1200. Any lower resolution produces the same result.

Try changing the renderer from Direct X to Open GL and see if that has any effect. In addition, whilst in Direct X mode, change the device from Direct 3D HAL to RGB Emulation and again see if thst has an impact.

There's also a way to change the resolution of your render, even if you aren't rendering to file. I don't recall how to do this, but maybe someone else in the forums does... Someone found out how to do it.... 3dfrog? Idk it was a while back lol :p

Thanks for your replies. I fixed the problem. The global 3d settings of the nvidia control panel caused the problems. By resetting them to factory defaults, the rendering to screen works fine. I think the filtering and antialising settings made the difficulties.

kind regards
