Hi,
The VirtuaLight options panel will not display for me. I have my Render Engine set to VirtuaLight.tsr, but when I right-click on Render in the Model view, nothing happens except opening the PhotoRender panel.
This seems to be a common problem, not a stupid error on my part, so I'm posting it here.

Yes, I've moved this question out of this thread, as it's a bug and not a noob question.
Also, the registry edit did not seem to fix the problem. I'm going to try a reinstall. |

here is a reg made from ts7.6 version of VL. it may not work but worth a try. :confused: |

Hi Guys,
This may be an issue of the good old TRUESPACE.CFG file inside your ...\trueSpace76\tS folder. Simply move it to another temp folder, now launch TS again and try your virtualight panel, it now works? Does for me. I have to admit that before doing this I also tried the reg merge option you guys mentioned - this may have also sorted things.
maybe its a combination. With respect to that VL.REG that STAN popped up. Its content is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Caligari trueSpace7\VirtuaLight\MainPanel]
"PanelX"=dword:00000208
"PanelY"=dword:000000d3
When I tried MERGE by right clicking on the file it didnt work properly. SO - I opened REGEDIT ( Start, Run, type regedit, click ok ). Follow down to the path mentioned above - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Caligari trueSpace7\VirtuaLight\MainPanel - in here delete the 2 dwords already there. Now go to the Edit Menu, New, Dword - name is PanelX ( caps included ), the hex code is 00000208. Do the same for PanelY. Once done close the regedit and lauch TS, now you should have your panel?

Hurrah! A combo of the CFG file and the registry were causing it. This may be a good sticky? |
