Ok - Sorry for being so ignorant about this - how exactly do I access the "package manager" in TS7.6? Please, please be specific with the icon locations! Thank you my dear friends....... pianodavy

On the bottom right-hand corner, next to the library browser, there is a menu. Click on it and select the icon that looks like a plug and socket.

It was a CD going into a slot, but Roman preferred this image which is the same as plug-in icon on model side...

hi

apparently this "Package Manager" icon is also the answer for installing the manual, because i tried installing the PDF through the browser but it didn`t work...it still appears (when i click on the help icon in trueSpace) that it can`t be found lol

:(

Hi David,

The manual is in PDF format so you need a PDF viewer to load it. You can get Adobe Reader here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO

You can also click on the pdf files manually to load them. Also check your installation directory when running the setup file, it may be that they are installing in the wrong directory.

Check that the files for the manual installed to the correct path. It should look like this:

C:\trueSpace76\tS\PDFMan (obviously I've got TrueSpace installed to my root C: but you get the idea).

The PDFMan folder needs to reside in the tS folder.

There are folders containing the videos for the manual (identified by chapter) and are within the ...tS\PDFMan\resources folder:

C:\trueSpace76\tS\PDFMan\resources\chapter1 ....chapter2, etc.

You should be able to just click on the Manual icon to bring up the manual and the video links in the manual will work. :)

Will this work if only the videos are there even without the PDF manual section? I havent' got the PDF manual yet but I did download and install the video pack, thinking they were seperate tutorial set...

Hi Theun,

No the links to the videos are in the manual. But you can browse to the directory where you installed the videos and click on them to run them.

Okay, thanks... another question...

downloaded the video pack that came with the 7.6 download, but after installing the video pack, it failed to started, complaining about a missing HTML file. I did see some videos in the resources directory with certain chapters, not all, so is there a place where I can get the HTML file? I assume it is the standalone menu/index for the video pack?

The videos are just WMV files that you play in Media Player by double clicking on them.

If you mean that clicking the Manual icon in TS complains that the html file is missing, then you need to download and install the manual. ;) The manual will also have links to the videos that demonstrate techniques covered in that section of the manual.

I did check out the videos so thats cool, was just wondering if there were more descriptions on that missing HTML file and if so, if I could get the HTML file somewhere...

but if it is all as links ni the manual, I'll download that and use it that way, no probs :)

thanks Jack

Ps. I've downloaded most of the video clips in you Organics workshop (one by one, slow connection speed over here) but after the 7.6 release, none of the individual chapters are available for download anymore, only the whole package and I can download it all at once due to speed and online time limits on myside...

Any idea why the individual file links are not there anymore?

Cheers, theuns...

Not sure about the course downloads. Guess you'd have to ask Tom about that one.

Thanks Jack, does Tom read the Tech Forum or should I pose the question in another forum thread? Maybe the ts 7.6 FREE one...

You're welcome :)

Probably best to start a new thread since the title doesn't really relate. ;)

Given the sheer number of videos, it was impossible to go through each in a speedy amount of time and remove the download security on each one-by-one, so instead the courses are offered as single downloads.

A download manager will let you stop and start the download at your leisure though, so you can still download the large files without problems (leave it running while you sleep, stop it while you need your bandwidth, continue it when you don't, and handle any disconnects that may happen with your ISP). There are several free ones out there that will do the job nicely :)

If time permits, we may look into reworking the individual videos, but for now the download manager would be your best bet.

HTH!
