Hi, I just wanted to report that Truspace (6, 7) crash when opening under a 1680x1050 resolution (Acer 20 inch LCD Flat Monitor). This doesn´t happend when changing to old 19 inch LCD Monitor with a 1280X1024 resolution.
I´m attaching the crash report that was generated. |

I'm running 1920 x 1200 without issues... and have layouts setup for changing resolution on the fly. I run anything from 800x640 up to the 1920x1200 during a single session.
Until the developers have a chance to take a look at your crash report, check the drivers and settings for your graphics card.
I initially had problems because of my graphic card settings. |

I run at 1680x1050 no probs. Might also be that he doesn't have enough video ram.
TrueSpace is very sensitive to video drivers on the nVidia cards. I'm currently using 177.66 drivers on my Vista x64 machine. You can get beta drivers for nVidia cards here:

1680x1050 as part of a dual monitor set up so its actually running on 3280 x 1200 (yes the monitors are mis-matched ;) ). I dont usually drag the tS window across both monitors, but I do throw the LE and extra 3D windows onto the second monitor and it all works fine.
Could be memory on the graphics card, how much do you have?

Is this a Bad Thing? I have one tS window stretched across my entire desktop (2880x900) using a GeForce 8600 GT with 512 Mb RAM and tS works like a dream - poetry in motion! |

I would point towards video driver since I had crash effects once too because exactly off that
Am running 1680 * 1050 on NVIDIA 8600GT with only 256MB - works fine after I changed ( already last year) the dirver |

1680x1050 resolution on a 8800 GTS 512MB, 20 inch monitor. No problems. |

Not a bad thing wizard, my monitors don't match though so it's unpleasant to do that. I also don't like the gap in between the image (resulting in half an object on one screen, half on another).
In the end though I simply prefer to keep one monitor for LE and secondary windows, leaving my main tS set up in one monitor, just as it suits me better :)
If you want to drag the main window across both monitors though, then that should also work fine, whichever you prefer! The answer is the same though, that large resolutions should not cause a problem, tS is capable of handling those.
Thanks!

Ah - Cool, thanks for the clarification Tom - I can see that would make sense with different monitor sizes. My monitors are identical (and have very thin frames) so it's not an issue for me. I have the windows edge lined up with the monitor edge so that one monitor is a fullscreen 3d view with the Stack right next to it on the second monitor then the LE and AE. Works a treat.:D |

Ah that's the same as me after all Wizard - I thought you meant you stretched your 3D view itself over both monitors. Still possible.
Like you I have 3D view and stack in my left monitor, and on my right I put the LE, other 3D windows, etc. I do keep my AE down in the bottom of my left monitor, is about the only main difference :)

"I thought you meant you stretched your 3D view itself over both monitors. Still possible." Not only possible it's dead easy - just double click the title bar of the 3d view and it spreads across both monitors. It's not particularly useful but it sure looks great!:D |
