I get this message when trying to render a scene in tS 7, then I get a crash message stating it. Do I have to re-install the software? Is anyone getting this?

Thanks

i jartz.

are you getting a crash report and an option to save the dump file to your hard drive? If so please select that option and post the crash dump file. You may need to zip the file before including it as an attachment.

thanks!

Which render engine were you trying to use? Also, could you post a screen grab of the scene you were trying to render?

Here's the situation. I tried it out today. I was just testing and trying out trueSpace and check out their render engine (which I was using VirtualLight), I clicked on the render button and that's when I got the error message. Last time when I first tried it, it didn't crash. But like 3 or 4 times I get the error message. I thought I send in the .dmp file and see what the problem is. Attach is some screen grabs of what's going on.

Thank you.

I would like to suggest shut down ts, hold down control key and start ts again. Select use default configuration from the Config trueSpace dialog.

Try the render with say a simple cube or sphere and see if problem is still happening.

I just tried rendering a simple cube with both Virtual Light and Lightworks without problems, perhaps you could post your scene to the forum?

I belived that did the trick. My computer is just 6 years old so maybe that's an issue. I managed to get into tS7 with no problems as of now. I'm new to tS so I'm getting there. Thanks for all suggestions.

Have a good one.

It sounds like this may be related to a problem some users are having with Virtual Light.

You probably don't need to reinstall. Try the fix posted in our Technical FAQ (link is below) and see whether that will solve your problem.
