Now that Caligari has done such a great thing of releasing TS7.6 for free is there any plan (or a current way) to download the older version of TS (such as 6.6) for thos who's systems won't handle TS7.6's requirements?
Thanks

Hi Mike.
With 7.6, you can use the Model side, which is 6.6.
Turn off the Bridge, which is the utility used to transfer data between 7.6 (Workspace side) and 6.6 (Model side).
How?
Do this:
1. Start 7.6
2. Switch to Model side by clicking the Model tab, in upper left hand corner of interface
3. In upper right corner of interface, select the Setting tab
4. In the Destop section (topmost portion of Setting tab), is the Bridge option. By default this is set to Auto.
Click the dropdown arrow, and select Off.
I am attaching a snapshot so you can see the components.
This will disable the bridge, freeing up your resources. |

It's a fair point - I'm still running Win98 at home on both my machines, and both would struggle on the hardware requirements even if the OS was recent enough.
The only reason I'm staying positive is that my wife had already agreed to let me start looking in to a new PC - very fortunate timing.... |

Yeah... I think my hardware could take it but obviously OS is the kicker...
Great of Caligari to release this though. I remember first trying Truespace back in like 1992 (or close to that)... On an old Pent 60.
Anyway. If 6.5 were free it would be great....
Thanks

We won't be releasing older versions for free. All our focus will be on the new and lastest version only.

And I'm pretty sure Microsoft quit supporting Win98 a couple of years ago...so I'd go for the pc upgrade for sure. |
