Garage Games is looking at the ability to import Collada files natively; eliminating the need for converting to their proprietary .dts format! Making TrueSpace and game development with Torque an excellent pairing! Check it out here:

That would be nice! COLLADA seems to be emerging as something of a standard, given time it might replace OBJ, 3DS or X as the most effective ways to move models.

Keep us updated on how that progresses, and would love to hear any early results on trying tS COLLADA export with their importer!

Right now it seems that FBX and Collada are the new "biggies" for export/import; FBX tied closely with the Autodesk monster.

Honestly; I've been following the news on the new Core build of Lightwave, and they are going to make Collada a native exporting option. I tried getting through to Jim Plant and Jay Roth about it (specifically on LW and game design as a whole); but it didn't gain much traction...which is a pitty since game development has long passed the Movie/TV industry as far as income goes, and the Indy Game Dev scene is getting into the Billions in revenue.

Then I remembered....TrueSpace 7.6 has a Collada export as well....and it's FREE. ;)

I'll have to see what's what, with TS and Torque. :)

Tricky part is getting a Collada import. I wants a .dae import!

If we get a .dae import, we can import Sketchup stuff too. :D
