I did a short escape the room type game using TS to model the scene, create cubic images using Trueblues great cubecam widget

The plan is a tutorial which I'm half way through writing, which explains how the game assets where made in TS :) and how the DDS cubic image was done

If anyone one wants to try the tut, the guys at Awakening (http://awingsoft.com) are happy to allow people to use the current beta version, which is fully functioning.

The game is scripted in LUA, one of the reasons I did this was to see if someone could do something similar in TS

The game so far is here (http://www.nigecstudios.co.uk/awakening/web/cubic.rar) I still have to sort the intro and ending, those are just place holders really

The tutorial (http://awingsoft.com/wiki/index.php/Cubic_Room_Games).. most of the Truespace part is written down, but it could/will have typos etc :o

If anyone breaks the game let me know! You can turn in the cubic room by left click and move your mouse, or by just moving the mouse to the edges of the screen, right mouse click for inventory :)

Edit

The game has been updated with sound and a few other fixes

Hey Nigec that was actually pretty fun. I was hoping I could take the pillow and slam it against the monitor :D but I finally figured out I was not moving my mouse around enough to find the switch for the power. I thought it was pretty cool. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for giving it a try :)

Yeah the hotspots are a bit small, I'm trying to get roll over text which will also make life a bit easier

Out of interest..

where you using Vista or XP?

there's a problem on XP machines with the drawer animation, the movie shrinks in size and appears in the top corner

If its XP and it worked fine, could you give me the spec please?

Thanks again

Thank mate..

I've only come across it twice but on older machines.. the computer booting shot works the same way and doesn't cause problems, but its a smaller animate fille, as in 512x512 where as the drawer is 800X600.. it could be because its not power of 2 .. games do some freaky things lol, you spend just as much time fixing silly bugs than making them lol
