I have just recieved the TGC news letter 69,there is going to be a DarkBasic 7.0 upgrade which will allow the loading of TS76 xfiles.

The update now accepts a more advanced form of X file which is typically exported in the new TrueSpace 7.6 version, ideal if you want to import your modelling efforts directly into your project.

Excellent news! Thanks for the update, please pass that along into the community over there, that thanks :)

Hopefully we'll see more of this - now that tS7.6 is free, it means any users of a game engine can have a totally free fully-featured modeler, so any investment by the actual engine manufacturers to make formats compatible will pay off. In essence, for the workload involved in letting the engine read a tS7.6 exported file or for writing a plugin to write to a file format from tS7.6, they get a whole modeling application for their users, not bad considering! And much more painless than having to develop a whole modeling application to go with their engine.

Thanks for sharing!

HTH!
