Ok ive started a small animation im going to enter in this months competition thought id post some pictures:

Basically it will re-inact the 20th Century Fox logo animation using the same music

Clever idea! Do you need to be aware of copyright issues? You are using at least 2 copyrighted logos (and the 20th century fox music)

hmm well of course the logo isnt an exact copy so i think i would be fine, not sure about the music, i made an animation entry a few months ago using this same idea but for what i used in a short film i worked on with someone and it was fine then

I think if someone was trying to make money with an animation & they used copyrighted music then they might have something to worry about, but as Caligari only offers money in the sense that it's money off your future Caligari purchases, I don't think he's got that much to worry about. Besides, I'm pretty sure I've seen 1 or 2 animations in previous months that have had copyrighted music.


I think as long as you aren't trying to make money off it & correctly attribute the music to it's original artist you should be ok.
