Ok guys,

this is our last chance to save our work for many many years..
I should suggest to every one to save what ever you feel as important from this forum.. and then we can start to build this forum again..

Im working hard to make a new tscommunity forum open to everyone.. i guess tomorrow will be open..

So, Sad times, that's true but for those who still believing and enjoying truespace, truespace will never die...

That's my honest opinnion..

Im realy sorry for Tom, Norm, Tomas, Anton, Martin, etc..etc..
Sorry for Roman and Bibiana, hope the best for them..

For those who think betatesters know this?.. nop.sorry but we receive the new at the same time as you..

So keep for those who want to still enjoying truespace we will have a place..

TS 4 Ever..

Maybe they could arrange for someone to take over this forum. There's really no need for it, and the storehouse of TS knowledge here, to disappear if someone can host it.

Best wishes to all the Caligari people and all trueSpace users.

For those who intend to make a forum, thank you to keep my contact details for inviting me. This will be pleased. I worked with Truespace for over 20 years and I felt like bereavement. Sorry for the Caligari team. :(

Perhaps, the community should offer to host the current forum on an other server. I think this is probably better than a selective backup of some threads.

As for the courses and other content currently hosted on Caligari server, I may offer to host it on my own server (http://emmanuel.asset.free.fr/tsxarchive/index.htm).

Now regarding tS code, of course, we all should pray for MS to decide to release it as open source, so the story could go on. This is a unique chance to make a Blender-killer ;)

Someone who can email Roman should tell him about the interest in hosting this forum.

He might not look at the forum or PM's anymore.

Hm. Sad, really...

But of course, I could host the forum.

At the moment, I'm running the german truespace community at www.3dspace.de ... it would be possible to host this community on the site with all the forum's postings. Maybe with an other URL if wished.

Just mail me at admin@3dspace.de or visit the forums, send me a pm...

Let us hope, that Microsoft will make something out of the TrueSpace SourceCode ;)

I just read this in the beta forums too... not sure what to say, I was hoping TS was important enough to MS to keep... I am not surprised though... Bummer.

I use other software but I do have a soft side for TS... I will miss these forums, I visit them almost daily, sometimes more than once per day :) Too much information on these forums to just close them down...

I'll look to see if the forums get transfered to another host.

Well, we knew it was coming deep down inside. Microsoft has taken the low road and become like Adobe and Corel (the killer of software.)

I feel sorry for all the developers that put so much effort into the product.

To all my friends I have met on these forums, it's good bye and good luck. I know you'll do well whatever you decide to do or go.

To Tom and Norm - thanks for your inspiration and being who you are. No finer people anywhere.

Good luck folks - put a little "tS" besides your name or message in other forums if you want to perhaps run into another in the future.

It's been a good voyage.

My solidarity here. I'm pretty new in the comunity but its a great one.

For the backup, Not only the forums, but the tutorials, galleries.

If trafic its a problem maybe we can generate some mirrors. I'm in.

Maybe we can organize somehow the backup. The forum becouse the database is a problem, but I can help with some videoturorials. We need a SiteMap!

There is a section with short videotutorials somewhere, but I cant find it.

-Forum (database)

-Users (maybe organize a newsletter list)

-Tutorials

-VideoTutorials

-Galleries

-PlugIns

something I'm wondering will microsoft sell truespace now? or just keep the code so it can't reincarnate, ensuring its total demise.

Special farewell to Roman -

Without you, the imagination of tens of thousands would have been locked away.

Roman, you are true visionary and an instrumental founder of PC 3D graphics and no one can take that away from you.

Blessings be upon you and your family as well as the entire Caligari staff.

All the Caligari Staff have been great all these years and made it a joy to learn trueSpace. Tom and Norm have put up with us for so long they deserves a trophy! They have always been professional. Good Luck to all of you and please visit the other Forums and say hello.
I will miss this place.

Thanks all :) Just left it closed so that people can easily find it (mostly so they know to contact me before Friday if they want an alternative email address).

I do plan on having a presence at any other forums that spring up, how much depends on what I end up doing for employment and how much time I have left outside of that. So could be lots, if I end up doing lots of 3D, or could be not much if I end up in another field, can't predict right now, but to a greater or lesser extent, I will be there.

You do not, as they say, get rid of me that easily.

Hmm, if that is "putting up" with people then it's quite a treat to do so - I always looked forward to seeing what everyone was up to now, and what people had to say on things. Highlight of my job was keeping track of all the great things users were doing, and putting a spotlight on some of that awesome work now and then.

Thanks!

Tom

Hurray Tom!

P.S. I'm worried about how little time for the anouncement. just some days, a lot of people will enter and see nothing from a day to another.

Wow, bummer.
Now I have to learn a whole 'nother 3D software.:(
This was such a great community, really sad to see it go.:(
I logged in and didn't believe the posts, I thought "They can't be serious."

Thank you all you Caligari staff members, you have been very inspirational.
Any branching forums I'll try and get to.

On a similar side note, does anyone know a quick way to clone a site and save it to one's hard drive?

Time to VIolate the NDA Muwahahahaha!!

Ok just kidding.

If 7.61 gets released the fluid sim plugin can support physics with objects; so if the fluid hits a ball the ball kinda moves out of the way and such. I played with this a bit but didn't spend much time on it.

Very cool capability.

This is clearly the end of an era and if only the world realized what was happening here. I spent only a few years in Outerworlds as a world owner and because of this software, I managed to create avatars that many people from the Activeworlds community claimed could not be made. But the magic was not me. It was the creators of this software - TrueSpace - people who i now regret having never really tried to know in a more friendlier way. So I decided to pray to Whoever it is that we get our imaginative and creative powers from to help. To help keep everybody together. After all - and especially to those who were the founders and guiders of this software - these creations are your babies too. In fact, all of us using your software are your artistic children. These people are coming apart at the seams with this resignation. I implore you - don't give up! Start a new beginning! If you have to delegate processes to others, please - don't give up on the persons who you have made yourself. Really I cannot believe for a split second that the creators will abandon hope totally. But I really do wish everybody the blessings of a fruitful harvest in whatever you choose to endeavour. Thank you Roman. Thank you everybody else involved. God bless you all.
