Hi people,

I just wanted to know if anyone knows if there are plugins for array animations in truespace?

This is the array animation I made with Blender a while ago.

This one I made with Truespace today :

As you see I could animate the array a little, but It's not as complex like my blender array was.

is there a way to create emptys and rotate and spin them like blender does ?

thx for help ;-)

Regards, Chris

A script can be written model side that can generate arrays on the fly and so animate them. I have a "procedural building" where you tell it how many storeys it has, and it copies cubes to make the building taller, regenerating the array. It can also tell if its a corner, and so copy a different cube for the corner of the building, etc.

You'd need to feed in triggers to regenerate the array at each keyframe with necessary new values, but then the animation possibilities should be pretty much endless after that.

HTH!

A sample for such array-behaviour by can be found here:

The philosophy is different, in blender you have your Object which is parented to the other objects.

Parenting in ts can be done by the LE and scripting. If you look in above link a bit lower on that site you will find there a demo video. In that case I didn't use an empty or invisible object but rather the small object. Scripting opens also the possibility that the moves aren't totally identically for example, thus appear a bit more dynamically looking.

maybe you can use my multicopy script

It should be possible to have access to the matrix of all the created objects

by script, so they could move.

This is cool stuff Chris, what kind of tools would you need specifically to create something like this?

I did those with the built in array function in Blender.

It's quite easy to make- and looks very cool I think.

To prepare the animation here :

It took 5 minutes to set up and only 10 minutes to render 4000 + frames.

It would be great if someone would build a Truespace plugin with these functions. :D:banana:
