Amazing job as always Flavio! Your winning render is fantastic!

I think this was a very good month for the Gallery. All the entries are really good. Nice to see a lot of the Forum user's work made it too.

Great Job to all of you. Keep those creative juices flowing.

I'm glad to see a lot of very talented Animation work this Month too. I do know how much extra work is involved to make just one animation. So a special toast to you guys!

Yeah very nice!

Chester Rocks... Oh Yeah. Just curious... did you record the guitar yourself?

Some of the riffs remind me of Vinnie Moore and Joe Satriani. :)

I agree. And I get the feeling that the animators were having too much fun this time around, lol. :D

All around nice effort and it's good to see quality work being submitted. It'd sure be nice if the render engine was listed though, since a lot of us are using external render engines now.

I wasn't able to view the winning animation either. Quicktime opened and said it needed software to view the file, but wasn't able to download it.:(

Thanks a lot for the congratulations... the Video is XVID Codec, install the newest DivX Codec - that will work.

The guitar is from an instructional website, dont remember which one. The main song is from a set of royalty free cd's I have.

The most amazing thing to this whole video was the work flow that I have created. The total animation from the design process to the completed product only took 2 days to complete. Everything came straight from the imagination nothing was drawn on paper and for the most part I never do.

I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a fun animation to make and if anyone should ask all the voices are mine, and no I dont have a southern accent and no type of software was used to change my voice.

Steine I would enjoy talking to you if you get a chance email me jeffroig@yahoo.com you do some nice work and I think we can work on something together.

Welcome to the forum Jeff! Really enjoyed watching your entries and it looks like you had a lot of fun making them. :D

BTW, I'm sure everyone would be thrilled to see some tutorial threads showing your animation workflow. ;)

Sigh...

Still not able to see the winning animation. Every time I click on it, it goes to a quicktime page, loads the video, then tells me that quicktime needs new software to run it. Which it never finds.

Wish I knew how to see it, but I'm tapped out of ideas.

Any thoughts?

My thought is uninstall Quicktime ;) I have a similar issue, when I try to view a PNG on another machine, it always runs Quicktime inside IE to open it, very weird, very annoying.

On a more practical note, I would try right click and Save Target As. Once on the hard disk, you can choose to open it using Windows Media Player or some other player application that is NOT quicktime.

You need to be sure to download the XVid codec of course, otherwise Media Player won't be able to show it either.

HTH!

I always right click on the link and choose "save target as". Then save it to my harddrive.

Once on your harddrive, you can then right click on the file, go to "Open with..." and select "Choose default program...". This will let you set a program like Windows Media Player as the default to open that file type.

I have Windows Media Player set up to handle even the Mac formats, since Quicktime sucks and isn't compatible with 64-bit Vista.

...Quicktime isn't compatible with 64-bit Vista.

I have no problem running Quicktime version 7.3.1 with my Vista 64bit.
Considering that my camera videos are only processed in Quicktime format, I then convert them to WMV...like you said, Windows Media Player is by far a better program.

It's mainly a problem with Quicktime plugin for IE and Firefox. It's a 64-bit OS compatibility issue and you can see posts about it here:

On the YouTube issue, be sure the author is the one who puts it there, or you request their permission first. These videos are NOT in the public domain or free to copy or repost etc just by their appearance in our gallery. All rights remain with the artists (with the limited provision that Caligari is allowed to show the video on our gallery pages) and it is up to them to say whether or not the video can be moved or displayed elsewhere. To do that without the artist's permission is an infringement of copyright, after all if the artist wants it on YouTube, they would have put it there already, with the proper credits and notes that they want shown there. So, please do not move these videos without their permission, in case some don't want them on YouTube.

HTH,

Tom

Mr. Bones has moved my Video's to YouTube and he has my permission to do that because i have no account there (and i don't need one).

For the audience, the video is encoded with the XVID Codec, just install DivX or direct the XVID codec with the newest release and play it with a supported player (i.e. VLC, Media Player Classic etc.) - forget QT ;-)

Good to know! Had to be sure to mention it, as it would not be good to move animations without the author's permission :) Just wanted to be sure people know not to copy the videos around without talking to the artist first.

Thanks!
