with it ........

we call it the buggy box on the forum now !

Tom is 90 and quite slow with typing but we get an answer to our questions...

once a month. Roman comes to the forums once a year but thats often.....

he has lots of work to do with virtual universe.

But we remember the year 2009 everything turned to the better....:D

Also...
Chaos Group bought Caligari and stopped supporting MicroSoft!
MicroSoft is now a Pharmaceutical Company producing an antidote for Viagra. Their business
is NOT picking up.

1. Is this some sort of joke thread? I don't think TS even got to version 8 yet.

2. So is this "Almost Real! tS8.5 !!!" actually real or are you people just trying to be silly and have a little Truespace 7.6 fun? I mean I would love to have some of those nice fluid features like Blender has, but having the simplicity of Truespace instead.

3. Wait, do I really see a DirectX 12 listed there, or is that a joke too?

4. Is there a such thing as DX 12 out yet?

5. Should I get my hopes up for TS8.5?

6. Is it Autodesk or Microsoft that bought Caligari... or did they not buy Caligari?

Sorry for asking so much, i'm just confused whenever someone puts a joke ad on the TS forum, and i've seen joke threads before, so that's why i'm confused if this is supposed to be humor or not.

Thanks for this humor, if that's what it is, but if it's not humor, then that's okay, and I really hope some day the company that now owns Truespace will add enhanced hair and fur and water features. That would be really cool:)

Have a nice day.

Thanks for clearing that up for me everyone!

Sorry, but being a young lady here, I just never seem to understand when someone is making a joke here, because it seems so real and the person telling the joke seems serious about it. And there is also the fact that everyone keeps on adding to the joke which makes it more confusing to me.

Now I surely know you guys are joking, but could you guys please tell when you are joking, please?

Thanks!

TamTam, please do not ever listen to the 1938 broadcast of "War of the Worlds" by Orson Welles.
That is no joke.
The above was a joke.
Just kidding
Seriously.

Steinie, I think you just confused me more than ever. Silly Steinie, are you trying to scramble my brain, like dice rolling on a table? :D I don't know what you are talking about, but "War of the Worlds" sounds like a violent movie, and I don't like anything too bloody and scary like wars.

Are you telling us you've never heard of War of the Worlds..?!

Crikey, I feel old...

Maybe you should check out wikipedia or google or something....

Their is certainly quite a lot of irony on the forum which is admittedly difficult to pick up on in text form sometimes. I could say it's because there's a strong British element here and we love irony/sarcasm, but given that Steinie and Jamesmc are probably the most ironic/sarcastic here, it can't just be down to British influence - maybe it's more down to bitterness?! ;) (just joking guys...)

War of the Worlds is a science fiction novel by H.G. Wells, from 1898. Later it was made into a radio play by Orson Wells. It was presented in the form of "interrupting your regular broadcast" and as such so many people believed it was real in the US, that it caused mass panic.

There'd be many clues that it is a joke here - first, Caligari would have announced it rather than a user, and it would be on our front page, and we'd have sent out newsletters about it. Next up, the graphic was rather too cartoony to be real. And many other things too :)

Quite a humourous thread though, been kind of enjoying it myself!

HTH,

Tom

I dunno, I thought I put in a good clue about the post being a fake. :D

...along with our good friends from the planet Xenona...

But then again, I have difficulty separating reality from fantasy myself. :D

Now back to work, I have to reset my time machine because I'm late for an appointment - don't ya just hate that?

The Orson Wells radio version was acted out right here in beautiful New Jersey :) Well, not exactly acted out, but this was the backdrop.

The recent science fiction 3D version was not that violent. I thought it was cool anyway.
