Is anyone else runnign the Windows 7 Beta? Build 7000

On workspace side, using the link editor, I get absolutely no refresh. Just trails and artifacts all over the place.

I have tried disabling all the visual features, for the desktop and applications that windows implements, and this made no improvement to the situation.

If Microsoft is going to push Windows 7 out the door with a reworked GAPI layer, then Truespace is going to need to be recoded to work on it, and probably extensively, as there are allot of things that don't respond well.

Thanks, Rigel

I think this is a big issue. I have read so much potential good about the new Windows 7 but it must pass the beta tests. I was just going to download it (its free for now as beta) and try it. My concern is finding the correct VIDEO driver for my laptop that would work with Windows 7. Any more posts on this would sure be appreciated.

Yes, my initial thought was that this might be a video driver issue. Can't say at present for sure.

At least you can't have any issues with getting hold of a Windows 7 beta with your new e-mail adress... ;)

Go to the exe file for truspace, right click, and select properties.

Set the check box for "Disable Desktop Composition".

This will turn off the Aero DWM when you run TS, and you won't have the trails, and bad redraws.

I dont think TS is completly compatible with Vistas and Wins 7s Desktop Window Manager, yet.

Earlier versions, like TS6.6, wasn't compatible with Wine either - it had trouble with the menus. I haven't tried version 7.6 in wine but it would be nice if it worked...

Hi scapino. No can make good with the trails and such. I've tried every compatiblity option, and likely combination available, and it's still doing the same shtuff. I'll check my video card driver.

I updated my video driver to the Vista 32 bit drivers, that would most likely be most compatible with windows seven, and no can do. Something is simply very wrong here.

You will have to search out a windows7 beta driver for your card. The above link is from March 02.09 and discusses NVIDIA specific windows7 driver.
